I'm Melissa Harmel, an As-Is Listing Specialist with eXp Realty, LLC, licensed in Alabama and Georgia and serving DeKalb, Cherokee and Chattooga counties.

I help owners sell houses that aren't perfect: the ones the Alabama MLS lists as AS-IS and the Georgia MLS lists as a FIXER. Those sales rarely fall apart over price. They fall apart over financing, when an appraisal flags the roof or a loan program won't touch the property.

That's the problem I know best. I was first licensed in 1998 and sold real estate in Tucson, then spent nine years marketing and building mortgage teams at Alaska USA and Cornerstone Home Lending, working alongside more than 100 loan originators. I returned to sales in 2017 as a team listing specialist, then went solo with eXp Realty, where I was a three-time ICON Agent (2021–2023) and Top Solo Agent for eXp Alaska in 2023. In 2024 I moved to Northeast Alabama, knowing just a handful of people.

Every seller gets a line-by-line net sheet before listing and with every offer, so you know what lands in your account, not just what's on the front page. I work solo. The person you call is the person who does the work.
